Mandalas - Symbolism, Art, Decor and the 2020 Mandala Meditation Collection at Clarity Cove

I can't think of anything more beautiful to look at than mandalas (except for nature of course, and puppy dog faces!). They are just so pleasing to the eye. I'm guessing because of the symmetry and infinite patterns that can be created. It's been said that to stare at a mandala is to experience the nothingness that is at the heart of enlightenment.
Mandalas are seen as a symbol of deeper connection with the self and the Universe at large. Representing wholeness, it is a cosmic diagram reminding us of our relation to infinity, extending beyond and within our bodies and minds.

They are meant to be objects of contemplation, their equal proportions magically balanced to purify and calm the mind. They have been used to gain insight, healing, and for self-expression.
Mandala in Sanskrit literally means "circle"

Organic mandalas can be found all throughout nature. Flowers, sea shells, crystals, the rings inside of a tree trunk, anywhere where there is a central starting point allowing for a circular pattern to emerge.

Creating or even coloring mandalas is a form of meditation in itself. It allows us to focus as we examine our own connection within. It is therapeutic and relieves stress.
Art therapy is not about the end result but the process of achieving it. The process of creating round, symmetrical "spiritual circles" is beneficial from a healing perspective. It promotes mindfulness, calm, and awareness in the present moment.

Mandalas have been used to focus in meditations for thousands of years. Most popularly associated with Indian Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism, but they have been used in a variety of religious and spiritual traditions all over the globe.
In the sacred art of Mandala Sand Painting, Buddhist Monks create intricate patterns and designs taking days and even weeks to finish. When the sand mandala is finally finished, they bless it with rituals, dismantle it, sweeping all the millions of grains together; and release the blessed sand into a flowing river where it can empty into the ocean and heal the world. wow! Such a beautiful and powerful practice! You can delve deeper into the world of mandala sand painting HERE

Metaphysically speaking, the mandala is an intricate representation of the Fractal Universe and Cosmos.
The circular mandala has always been regarded as a sacred device and conductor of positive cosmic energies. These subtle positive energies can strengthen our auras and help create the positive energies needed to help us through trying times.

MINDFUL MANDALA MEDITATION PRACTICE:

1: set an intention for a specific outcome (ie: heightened awareness, calm, positivity, patience, abundance etc,,,)

2: take a deep breathe, relax and focus on the center of the circle.

3: let your eyes take in the beauty of the design. if your mind wanders, gently guide your awareness back to the center.

4: imagine your self falling into the center. relax and drift with any intuitive thoughts or feelings that may arise. if you begin to feel lost or uncomfortable or your mind starts mindlessly chattering away, simply bring your focus back to the center.

everyone will have a different experience. however, most people meditating with the mandala feel more relaxed and come away with a resolution or a little more clarity regarding the intention that was set beforehand.
